TRUMPF Medizin Systeme at Medica 2006

Innovative products and integrated concepts for operating rooms, intensive care units and hospital logistics

At Medica 2006, November 15 to 18, 2006, in Düsseldorf, TRUMPF Medizin Systeme will present product innovations and proven solutions for operating rooms, intensive care units and diagnostic rooms in a “glass hospital” in hall 13, booth A 42. The objective is to demonstrate how intelligent products and their coor-dinated interaction can work together in an economical, integrated patient and medical device logistics.

Two product innovations in particular will be the focus of the presentation. One is the first LED operating light in the world, the “iLED,” which was introduced at Medica 2005 and is now available with an integrated CCD color camera. With this light it is possible both to transmit razor-sharp, true-to-life video broadcasts live from the OR and quickly archive still shots on a USB Memory Stick – all under sterile conditions. The new camera system supports digital documentation and telemedical applications as they relate to teaching and research. The “Serial Digital Interface” (SDI), which TRUMPF is the first manufacturer to offer as an option for an operating light camera, ensures that live images from the operating room have a particularly high digital quality. SDI is currently the best available technology for fast digital video broadcasting via cable.

In addition, TRUMPF will introduce the new generation of the MARS operating table as a Medica innovation. Although both functionality and performance have increased, this table is no more expensive than its successful predecessor. The flexible allaround talent is equipped to handle a variety of surgical applications and country-specific market needs. MARS supports patients weighing up to 360 kg, has a new electromotor drive system, and is also available in a low version for procedures requiring the surgeon to be seated.

In addition to product innovations and logistics concepts, TRUMPF Medizin Systeme will offer a communications platform at its trade show booth for a vigorous exchange of opinions and experience among experts, users, suppliers and product specialists. Every day at Medica will find several technical presentations taking place: Surgeons and caregivers will speak about their experiences with TRUMPF solutions for intraoperative diagnostics, patient and device logistics, new product requirements and future concepts. In addition, light experts will present the results from a study on the psychological perception of various color temperatures currently only realized by TRUMPF’s iLED.
