Record year for TRUMPF Medical Systems

07/26/2011

Reporting sales of 176 million Euros, TRUMPF Medical Systems closed its most successful fiscal year yet on June 30, 2011.

“In recent years we posted average sales growth of 12 percent. In this last fiscal year we achieved an increase of 17 percent,” says Harald Völker, Head of the TRUMPF Medical Technology Division. “Our operating tables accounted for a large part of this, but the surgical lights incorporating LED technology as well as our new modular TruPort ceiling-mounted supply unit were also successful on the international market.”

The outlook for the fiscal year that has just begun is also positive. Völker continues: “We aim to push ahead with our growth and continue to expand the Medical Technology Division. We will widen our product range and invest more strongly in research and development, and especially in developing our operating locations. A new production plant is to be built in the Munich area because our plant in Puchheim near Munich is operating to full capacity. We will also start to expand the other German site in Saalfeld this year.”

TRUMPF Medical Systems develops and produces innovative operating room lighting and communication systems, ergonomic ceiling-mounted workplace solutions for operating rooms and intensive care units, and flexible operating table and patient transport systems. The Medical Technology Division employs around 650 people worldwide. Saalfeld in Thuringia and Puchheim near Munich are the two main locations of TRUMPF Medical Systems. The company has subsidiaries in the USA, France, the UK, Austria and China, and is represented in more than 70 countries.

The TRUMPF Group can look back on the biggest sales increase in the history of the company as it closes out the fiscal year that ended in June. The German company recorded sales of 2.025 billion Euros in the 2010/11 fiscal year. Compared to last year's sales of 1.340 billion Euros, this year's sales figure represents an increase of 51 percent. TRUMPF will announce its final figures at its annual press conference on October 19, 2011.
